The Tyson Field Science staff, under the direction of Science Outreach
within the Biology Department of Washington University in St. Louis, are
sad to announce the closing of the Tyson Field Science program as of June 1,
2006. Unfortunately, although Jon Chase, acting director of Tyson Research
Center and the faculty and staff here and on campus have been incredibly
supportive through the years, our grant and fee support will no longer allow
us to maintain the high quality of programming that teachers and scout
leaders have come to expect at the Tyson Research Center.
Thank you to all teachers, scout leaders and parents that have supported us
in the previous 20 years. It is through your efforts that the next
generation will become responsible stewards of the environment.
Again, thank you for your encouragement and promotion of outdoor science
education.
