Teaching

I am interested in learning and teaching science at the college level. I strive to teach basic concepts, relate concepts to everyday life, and encourage students to think critically about biological issues they encounter in their lives and communities.

I have taught a variety of lab, discussion, and seminar sections in several departments at the University of Georgia and Washington University in St. Louis. Additionally, I helped revise the lab curriculum for the Introduction to Plant Biology Lab course at UGA. I served as a TA Mentor for the UGA Center for Teaching and Learning's Future Faculty Program for the 2004-2005 academic year.

My teaching portfolio materials are available upon request.
