ORROCK LAB
Ecological Research At Washington University in St. Louis

We are interested in behavior, ecological interactions, and how space mediates ecological and evolutionary dynamics. We are particularly interested in questions where these three themes converge, with a focus on biological invasion, conservation, metapopulations, and metacommunities.

Consumers and the dynamics of plant communities: do exotic plants succeed via consumer-mediated apparent competition?
Maintenance of anti-predator behavior during island-wide predator manipulations.
Remote control of prey by predators: consumptive and non-consumptive effects of predators in metapopulations and metacommunities.
Predator-prey interactions and conservation corridors.
Nutrient Network (NutNet): Large-scale experimental evaluation of nutrient addition and consumer manipulation.
