I am most interested in research that can directly inform the process of ecological restoration. In the Damschen Lab, I am working on a large-scale project to restore longleaf pine savanna understory plant communities, which will examine the ability of relic communities to spread once restored, and the role of plant-animal interactions in dispersal.

Before joining the Damschen Lab, I earned an M.S. at Clemson University. My research examined the demographic responses of reptiles and amphibians in the uplands adjacent to isolated Carolina bay wetlands to the restoration of wetland hydrology and vegetation in the bays, and to the concurrent restoration of open-canopy, fire-maintained pine savanna in the uplands.
