JOINING THE LAB

Postdocs
Postdoc positions for funded research projects in the lab will be posted here. Individuals who have their own funding or are interested in pursuing funding together should contact me to discuss possibilities. I strongly encourage all postdoctoral researchers in the lab to apply for outside funding whether or not they receive support from me. I encourage perspective postdocs to apply for funding from the following sources:
Ph.D. Students
I am interested in working with creative and motivated students who have had research experience in ecology or conservation biology. Perspective students should determine if their interests match well with those of the lab (see Research). They should then contact me via e-mail to determine whether I will be accepting students the following fall. In this e-mail, perspective students should include their undergraduate GPA, GRE scores, a description of their research interests, what questions they want to pursue as a Ph.D. student, and why they want to work in the Damschen Lab. As with all members of the lab, I will provide support whenever possible, but I also expect students to apply for outside funding. I strongly encourage perspective students to apply for funding from the following sources if they are eligible:
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who are interested in ecology and conservation biology and whose interests match well with the Damschen Lab (see Research) should contact me to determine if there are opportunities to assist with research projects in the lab. From time to time, paid research technician positions will be open and advertised here. However, volunteering opporunities will be available more often and can provide invaluable experience for determining research interests and applying for graduate school.
